The history of OCEANROAMERS dates back to 1996 but it’s not until 2003 when OCEANROAMERS was formally establish as a Consultancy company.   Since then many things changed: The Oceans, the Wildlife, the customers and the way we teach people how to explore safely our Underwater Heritage.

In 1987 the MD of OCEANROAMERS, Henri Hemmerechts, began his career in the travel industry working as a Divemaster/Boat Captain in the Sea Aquarium of Curacao. After 16 years of working for a myriad of companies in various positions and slowly gaining knowledge as a consultant in the Scuba-Maritime industry he decided it was time to create OCEANROAMERS.

OCEANROAMERS's website was launched in November 2003 and at the time it was only a news, club and sales platform based out of The Hague in the Netherlands. Back then we sold active travel to various destinations worldwide, ran a diving school and imported and distributed Seven Tenths Clothing. Nevertheless we started losing our bond with the Sea....getting lost in Europe on Dry Land!

In 2005 we decided to move back to The Red Sea in Port Sudan (Sudan) to create some diving centers and schools for various partners... the "Call of The Wild" had us firmly in its grip again. Some of the projects we performed there and the many contacts we made in this troubled country have certainly shaped our knowledge and the way we will do business in the future. Due to the long standing "embargo", the indecision of the local government and many hurdles we regretfully had to move back to Egypt.

In 2008 OCEANROAMERS established it's headquarters in Cairo (Egypt). Thanks to its strategic position between Europe - Africa and the Middle East we are currently positioning ourselves as the new Market Leader in the Scuba Industry.  This new foundation will revolutionize the way SCUBA Diving Tourism is doing business.
